Home Sweet Home

We have made it home. We were able to get here about 12:15 this afternoon. Christina was able to take a nap and Luke and I hung out on the couch. Christina's Dad, Meamaw, and Debbie came by to see Luke. We are still waiting for Christina's milk to come in so he has been a little fussy, we don't think that he is able to get enough to eat. We hope that it comes in tonight so we can get some sleep. We would love for everyone to come by and meet Luke and hang out with us. We also love comments and its cool for us to read them. I will try to get some pictures up later this evening. Right now I'm going to get some food and try to take a nap!!!!!!

Snip Snip

Today everything has gone great. There have been no problems with Christina or with Luke. He got his little procedure done this afternoon and that had no complications. The only thing is that he has been sleeping all afternoon which means that he will be up all night. We are trying to wake him now so that we can feed him so we can get some sleep tonight. All in all, we are now a family of three and very happy!!

Luke Update

Luke is doing very well. I know that no one wants to here me talk about what is going on they just want to see pictures but, I'm going to try and do some updates now. The doctor came by to see him about 3 hours ago and he checked out just fine. He said that all of the complications this morning are just past history. The doctor was a little bit surprised when I told him that he was actually my doctor when I was growing up. The nurse just came in and weighed him he is 7lbs 1o oz so he has only lost one oz. so far. He has been feeding pretty well and already having poopy diapers. The night has calmed down and I think that its just going to be the three of us until morning.

Making Progress

Well in the last two hours we have gone from 3.5cm to 7.5 cm. Things have started to progress, there is a lot of pressure and some discomfort even with the epidural. I would like to think that in the next few hours we will be pushing this little bugger out. I'll keep you posted.

Slow and steady

Things have started to move a little, its 4:45 and we are finally 90% and about 3 cm dilated. We were able to get some rest after the epidural and now feel a little better. Christina is still doing well. Her spirits are higher now, she feels like she can still do it and hopefully in a few hours we will be getting close. Thats all for now

Epidural

Well folks its about 2 am and the contractions got the best of us. Christina decided that she needed an epidural. The doctor came in and gave it to her about 5 minutes ago. Things are going better now. Hopefully we will be able to get some rest so that when pushing times come around we can make it. I'm hoping that in the next few hours he will be here with us. I'll let you know whats going on soon...

Slow Labor

Not much has changed. She has started to thin out but labor has taken its tole on us. We are really tired and wish things would speed up!! Still at 2 cm and about 75%. I'm trying to keep spirits up and will do my best to help the labor process.

Labor Sucks

Christina's labor has started to really pick up the last 20 minutes or so. We have had to work on our breathing and staying relaxed. Well back to it.

No News

No real news to relay. Everything is going slow. The contractions are starting to pick up a little. Pain is increasing, they are around about 4-5. We checked about an hour ago to see how things have progressed and we were still at about 2cm. I'll keep things as up to date as possible.

Pain

The contractions have started to get stronger. They are now starting to be uncomfortable. Christina is doing well. The baby will not sit still to save his life. They are having a hard time monitoring him because of it. Everyone is still here, my Mom, Christina's Mom, Sabrina, and Ashley. Things haven't get hectic yet the nurse did say that when things get going everyone has to be out!! Be back in a little while with some more news.

Contractions

Still here in the hospital. Contractions are about 2 - 3 minutes apart. Christina is still not having any problems. The pain is very minimal and I haven't really had to do much. The nurse just upped the pitocin to try to intensify the contractions and speed this process along I will let everyone know if anything changes!!!

TODAY IS IT

We are in the hospital. It has been a long haul to get here but we are finally here. This morning at about 5:30 Christina's water broke, so we thought. We came to the hospital got admitted and thought we were good. The doctor came in and checked her and was unable to find amniotic fluid so she was discharged and we went home. The doctor thought that she "wee'd" on herself.

I decided to go to work and Christina was going to take a nap and just hang around the house. She was very discouraged with the whole situation. She was going to lay down and it happened again she felt another gush. She came to pick me up at work and we went back to the doctor. They were able to find fluid and we were sent back to the hospital!!!!!!!

Now we are on pitocin to help strengthen the contractions and she is sitting on the birthing ball. She is pretty comfortable and doing pretty well. I will try to keep things as up to date as possible. If things don't really make sense its because I'm super tired and I have a bunch of people distracting me.

TRUE or FALSE

Well boys and girls we don't know what is going on. We were rolling right along this morning, contractions were about 5 to 6 minutes apart while we were walking. We can home and things just kinda stopped. We went for another walk and nothing!! So, we don't know what to do. I'll keep things posted if anything changes.

Getting Close

Here we go boys and girls. We have been having contractions for two days now. They are getting strong this morning. I hope that today is the day. We have not gone to the hospital yet, that will happen when the contractions are 5 minutes apart. Christina's mom and two sisters are here already. They came in last night. They are all super excited. I will not be going to work today so that we can try and walk this baby out. I will keep posting to keep things up to date. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!!!!

CONTRACTIONS

Well, we think Luke is coming soon. Christina has started having contractions. We went for a long walk last night and she started having what she thought was contractions. They continued through the night though not very frequent or regular. They have continued this morning. She decided to go into work this morning and see how long she could last. So....maybe tonight we will be going to the hospital but I really have no idea. I will keep posting today to let everyone know whats going on. We will also try to give everyone a call when we head to the hospital. Keep the blog up tonight and keep your phone close. Hopefully, we will have a new addition to the family tonight!!!!!!!

38 and no real news

Well, we hit 38 weeks yesterday. All is going well other than Christina is miserable. She is having a hard time sleeping and is really ready to have this baby. We did go to the doctor Friday and she was 1/2 cm dilated and about 80% effaced. I would like for him to come this week but you never know. I will try and post one last picture of how Christina looks before we go into labor. I will be sure to keep everything up to date when labor starts. Keep your fingers crossed!!!
