Doctors check ups

We took Mitchell to the Peds yesterday. When he was born he weighed in at 7lbs 10oz. When we left the hospital he was 7lbs 5oz, on out day after appointment he was 7lbs 1oz. Now he has been adding the weight back on, he was back up to 7lbs 6oz yesterday. Christina and I have been able to get some rest. The first two nights Mitch slept for 5 hours, last night was a different story. He was up what seemed like all night. Hopefully he will settle into a routine sometime soon and we can get some good rest. I will try to get some pictures up later this afternoon if all goes well!!

Finally home

We have made it home. We are not a full family yet. Lucas is still resting at Grandma and Poppa's but should be home soon. It is nice to be able to sit on a comfy couch and watch tv where you know the channels. Before we left the hospital they took photos of the little man. Here is the website and password.

Long awaited Photos

He is here!!!!!!!!!!

I know that I have not posted in almost 7 hours but he is finally here. Mitchell David entered the world early this morning at 12:32 am. He finally decided to come naturally and all went well with mommy. He was 7lbs, 10oz. The nursery will come in and measure him in a little bit. Christina and I are tired and happy. I will post some pictures first thing in the morning. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, well wishes. We felt them all.

6:00 Update

WELL....
The doctor had to go do a c-section for another mother so the nurse came in and checked Christina. She is at 5cm, so no significant progress. I'm getting a little tired, but we are all in good spirits still. I am hoping this kid decides to come tonight. Doesn't look like he is going to be here before Lucas has to go to bed so that's a bummer. I was really looking forward to his reaction when he got to meet his little brother. I guess i will just have to wait until in the morning. I will keep posting into the night as things move along. So much for a quick process!!!

Nothing to write home about

No baby yet. Christina received an epidural about an hour and half ago. She is now resting letting the contractions do there job. I am waiting impatiently in the "dad" chair. We can not find anything on tv so its been the gameshow network for the last 3 hours. The nurse expects the doctor to come by between 5:30 and 6:00 and check the progress. Hopefully (fingers crossed) we will be getting close to pushing. That's all for now. Check back later for more information!!!!

3:00 update

Well, the doctor just came in and checked Christina. She is 4 cm dilated and progressing along. The doctor broke her water and everything went well with that. The baby has looked great on the monitor all day long and they do not have any worries about him. Christina has decided to take an epidural to ease the pain and hopefully make things a little less stressful on her. She decided that since Lucas will be coming up here later that she would like to have some energy when he gets here. That's it for now, I will keep everyone up to date as things move along.

Here's to a save labor and delivery.

Contractions

Things have started to pick up with the contractions. They are starting to come every 3-4 minutes with some pretty good strength now. We are waiting on the doctor to come in and check how dilated Christina is and possibly break her water. We hope to know more with in the hour. Keep your fingers crossed that things go quickly and smoothly!!

Lucas and Mommy Pics

Hangin out and Taking meds

We are just sitting here watching the today show. Christina and my mother's are here along with Christina's sister. She is on the meds and the nurse is upping it up 30-45 minutes. There has been no real progression as of right now so we are just hanging out. We will keep you up to date on how things are going, but right now its just hurry up and wait!!!

Getting started

We came up the the hospital last night for Christina to get induced. Yesterday they used a foley catheter to help her cervix dilate. This morning they have let her eat some breakfast and have started her on Potocin to help get the contractions started. Right now she is 3 cm dilated and in good spirits. We will see how that changes as the day progresses.

Room Swap

Lucas has a new big boy room. We moved him from the bedroom that he was in to what was the spare room. I spend all of last weekend cleaning out all of the things that we had stuffed in there and setting up his new bunk beds. I also had to paint the room. It was yellow and Christina informed me that boys dont have yellow rooms. It looks really good and he will have more room to play. His room will be turned back into the nursery for Mitchel.

All is still going well on that front. Christina is doing as well as can be expected. She is already fellin as big as a house and is getting tired more easily. I am just hoping that all goes well and the last 15 weeks are uneventful and stree free.

Baby #2 Update and Hunting Trip

We have had an eventful Thanksgiving holiday. We spent Thursday with Grandma and Popa eating until we could eat no more. We then set out for Santee, SC. There were plans for Lucas to go on his first hunt and have Thanksgiving with Nanny and Nana.

Friday we got up early and drove into town. We met up Papaw to have lunch and see his new house. After which, the boys went down to the hunting land to set up the dear blind that Lucas and Papaw were going to hunt in that evening. Lucas was very excited to go hunting. I am not an avid hunter and have never really handles guns but my Father in Law is. He had three girls so this is the first boy and they like hunting together. They got all suited up in their camo about 4:30 and headed out. We heard a loud shot as it started to get dark, but when they returned they were empty handed. Papaw had shot at a coyote(and missed, we think) that was ruining their hunt. All in all they both had a good time and plan to do this many times more in the future.

As for Baby #2 we have decided on a name and it is.......

MITCHEL DAVID

Mitchel is a unique name and David is from Christina's father. Christina also had a doctors appointment on Monday and all is well. Everything looked good and things are on track. I will post more about the baby when information comes in.

Two Wheeling

Lucas has learned how to ride a two wheeler. He has known for about a month now but i am just now getting a little video clip up. He saw another little boy in the neighborhood that was his age doing it and he had to learn. Christina taught him in about 2 days. Next thing you know he will be getting his drivers license.

Boy Number 2

That's right we are having another baby boy. Christina and I are proud to announce that we are expecting again. It has been a very long road to get here. Many people know that we lost 2 babies after we had Lucas to miscarriages, but we finally feel like we are in the clear with this pregnancy.

We went to the doctors office last week and had anultra sound that showed the baby is doing very well and all is going according to plan. Christina was so very relieved. The last time she was in that room she got very bad news but this was a different story. This time she was crying tears of joy. We are both very excited and Lucas is too. I will do my best to keep things up to date on the blog again. With Facebook now everything is different and more knowledge is spread fast but this is still my main way to give information about the pregnancy out.

First Sleep Over

Lucas had his first sleep over this weekend. He went to stay with his buddy Trace. Trace is the little boy that Christina watches during the week. He had a really good time. They went to adventure landing. He told us all about the fast cars, playing putt-putt, and laser tag. We talked to him before he went to bed and he was all wound up so we knew that he had a good time. He woke up in the middle of the night looking for his mommy but Trace's mom was able to get him back to bed. We went to pick him up in the morning and when we got there he didn't want to go. He had to ride the horses first (Trace lives on a horse farm). So we watched while the two boys rode the horses. When we finally got home he took a 3 hour nap. They played hard.

31!!

No, not the magazine that sells hand bags, but the age that Christina turned last week. That's right folks Christina is older than I am again. It only lasts two months but I like to rub it it when I can. Luke and I took her out to dinner at Olive Garden on Thursday (her actual birthday). We then traveled to High Point to spend the weekend with her sisters and Dad. All in all, it was a pretty nice weekend. Christina received some new pj's from Lucas and I got her two new charms for her bracelet. She loved both. The kids played in the pool since it was so hot out and hopefully i will be able to get some of the pictures up this week.

3 Year Check Up

I have not posted in a LONG time but i want to rekindle the blog. Christina and i have been doing well. It has been a very hard and emotional year. There have been many looses and we still have heavy hearts. We are moving past these tragedies and taking small steps everyday.

Lucas is still a wild man. We love him so much and don't know what we would do without him. We had his 3 year old check up yesterday and the doc said everything was going great. He was 39" tall and 30 lbs. That ranks about 75% for height and 20% for weight. Tall and skinny just like i was when i was little.

I hope to add some pictures soon and see if i can keep the motivation to keep up with the blog.

Long Time, I know

Well, It has been a long time since I have posted and there have been a ton of things that have happened since then. To start my new job is going very well. It is much more flexible than retail and I get to spend more time with Christina and Lucas. I don't have to work weekends anymore witch is great. Luke is doing great. He had a great time at the beach with Christina's family. He loves the water and played in it all week. He did not care weather it was the ocean, the pool, or the hot tub. He really like the hot tub. (We turned the temperature down so it was more like a bath tub for the baby's) I have some pictures from the beach that I will try and get up later this week.

Luke is now "sleeping " in a big boy bed. We made that transition last weekend. It has not been the smoothest, but we are working our way through it. He like to get up in the middle of the night and pound on the door. Sounds really cute but its not really.

He also had tonsillitis two weeks ago. We had gone to the lake that day and when we came home he had a fever of 104.7 and that was a little scary. Christina and I were pretty worried but it turned out to be not that big of a deal. No medicine from the doctors they said he had to just fight through it. I felt bad for the guy. The good thing that came from it was that he was able to spend the week with his grandmothers since he couldn't go to daycare. My mom had him for two days and Cristina's mom had him for three. I know that they both really enjoyed it.

We are actually headed back to the beach next week with my family. We are leaving on Sunday and will be at the outer banks for a week. I will make sure that I get some good pictures and post them to the blog next week for all to see.
